Hope for a CrashWith a fate bordering that of the dinos for the rhinos as they are one of the most threatened species on the planet. White rhinos are in slim numbers— all for the sake of their keratinous horns. The population has seen a crash, though we hope for an upswing in “crashes” roaming the plains. World Rhino Day.
StalkSwaths of short grass are prime for a flock of guinea fowl to feast. Scuffling through, like country-line dancers, beaks down focused on ridding the patch of grass of insects, oblivious to the low lying predator within reach. Stalking, with brief, explosive charges. Unsurprisingly the birds, scattered in all directions. An element of surprise. Flock settles returning to the task at hand and the cycle continues.
